How much should a business website actually cost in 2026?

Website pricing confuses almost every business owner, because two agencies can quote ten times apart for a site that looks identical in a screenshot. The difference is almost never the design — it is what happens underneath.
A template site is assembled from a pre-built theme. It is fast to launch and fine for a simple presence, but you inherit the theme's speed problems, its code bloat and its limits. A hand-built site costs more because someone writes the structure around your content, your enquiry flow and your search terms.
The second driver is functionality. A five-page brochure site is a fraction of the work of a store with payments, or a booking system with availability rules, or a portal with logins. Ask any agency to price the features separately so you can see where the money goes.
Third is content. If photography, copywriting and product data are supplied by you, the project is cheaper. If the agency has to create all of it, that is real production work.
Our own starting points are deliberately transparent: business websites start at ₹10,000 in India and $300 internationally, and we quote the extras separately so you always know what you are paying for.
